  1. Barcode Symbology & Retail Registration

Our EAN-13, Code 128, and linear barcode generators produce geometrically accurate barcodes compliant with international symbology specifications. However:

  • GS1 Retail Barcodes:

    Generating an EAN-13 barcode on MyQRCodeKit does not assign or register that barcode number with GS1. To sell physical products in retail supermarket chains, you must obtain a licensed company prefix and Global Trade Item Numbers (GTINs) directly from GS1.

  • Check Digit Verification:

    MyQRCodeKit automatically verifies modulo-10 check digits to prevent calculation errors, but you must ensure the prefix and product codes match your official inventory database.

  1. Print Testing Requirement

Always print sample test proofs and verify scanning readability with multiple smartphone camera apps and dedicated hardware laser/CCD scanners before committing to mass printing runs on packaging, brochures, or billboards.
